I'm wanting to convert an international 300 from lp to gas. Not really a restoration at this point but an attempt to get a usable tractor. Since I've never been around a propane system I'm lost.
A fuel tank and a carb are a given. Not sure about the linkage and the governer set up. Another obstical is the electrical system. It still has a generator. Don't know if it was 12 volt or six. Tractor was running when the tail shaft (PTO) quit. Haven't got there yet. I will appreciate any advice. I have ordered the operator, shop, and parts manual. Not here yet. jet

Just my personal opinion, but if I were you I would learn how to run the LP system and fix it up with that. LP gas is much better for an engine, they run cleaner and get much less contamination in the oil, resulting in a longer life. Converting back to gasoline could be more difficult than you think - I'm not sure if the tin work is different on the LP models or not, but it might be.

You're the second person to tell me that I ought to stick with the lp. Maybe I'll get some one over here to help me through the lp and try it out. Hopefully the operator manual will help some. One of the reasons I wanted to switch was because of the hassle of propane fuel. The other guy that suggested this said I could probably pick up a propane tank on a trailer. If its that complicated to switch I'll look into it. Thanks

Try posting your question over on the Farmall board, I'm sure some people over there have had some experience with the LP tractors.
