Hello,

Have a 72 CK Case CK 'b' model. Did the left side brakes first. Went easy. Sure they were the original brakes and new ones worked fine. I have had the tractor for 3 years so I figured I would try the other side and I am in a little trouble.

The differential on this has two 'out' axles on each side so I can still use the tractor. The right side of the tractor brakes has a differential lockout that hasnt worked from the start. I have gotten it apart and freed it up, so I was making progress.

I now have the brake disc exposed and it is stuck to the spline of the axle. The whole brake and differential were rusted and a mess to get out. I have them out, all except for the brake disc. I have been soaking it for a while and it still will not budge. I have attempted to separate the disc with a small sledge(4lb) and a screwdriver(using one on each side to try to get uniform pressure uptward on this). Still no success. I am using the tractor with no brake onthis side but am wondering if there is an easier way to try this. There isnt enough room to get a gear puller in there.

I was also considering using heat on the disc and seeing if that worked. I am weary of using heat since there is gear oil in the differential and I do not want a fire.

I was also considering using liquid nitrogen to freeze the disc and see if it will either crack and come off or unloch the disc from the spline on the axle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
