As far as a paint remover....save your money!! Use a regular paint stripper or a wire wheel and ol' elbow grease. I guarantee you'll be happier. Works ok on grease but not on paint!

Now that is a bit odd. I had just the opposite experience. The paint stripper(Super Stripeze) did not work for me but the oven cleaner took it to bare metal on my Case SC with no effort. This was especially true on the rough-finished cast pieces.
One reason for the difference may be temperature and or humidity.
On the hood of my SC I took a cheap clear piece of plastic painter’s drop cloth and placed the hood on one end. Sprayed it with Oven cleaner, then folded the plastic over to set in the sun. I use rubber gloves, apron and mask and safety glasses when using and rinsing oven cleaner.
The dollar store has it for a buck but doesn’t seem to have the nice foaming quality that the name brand has.

Paint strippers probably vary in their ingredients and thus effectiveness somewhat. I forget the name of the brand I have, bought it at Walmart. Also there seems to be a lot of difference in the paints adhesion to the cast, probably because the cast is not uniform. The $1 a can oven cleaner may be weaker than the good stuff, also. But $3.50 a can is seems too expensive, a gallon of stripper is about $10, I think, and seems to last longer. I've never tried oven cleaner on sheet metal, since the stripper lifts it pretty good in 5-10 minutes.

Yes, oven cleaner is overhyped as a paint remover, I've had better luck with stripper also. Just be sure to get it out of the nooks and crannies, or it will lift the new paint.
