I'am rebuilding a 1930, 15-30 it has a 22-36 eng.Can someone give me advice?I just want to ring it,but rods will not come out through cylinder. But I can get piston up enouf to put rings on it.I donot want to pull the crank. Is this how you have to ring these engs.Sleves are good. Also I need a fuel tank, ordered one from Kinsinger Eng. Service but Iam not happy with it.Also need fenders.Any help will be greatly apprechated.

Rod and piston assy will come out the bottom through the side hole in the block. When you put them back in, then push the piston up above the block, install rings and use ring compressor and drive back down.

The pistons will come out the bottom with out removing the crank at least the 4 1/2 inch 15-30 did for me with a little manuvering. You really need to take them out to check the sleeve condition and rehone to cross hatch for ring seating Your best bet is to look to the left on your screen and order a shop manual Fenders are available from a couple of places one in Indiana and one in Pa. Both advertise in Gas Engine Magazine
