I have a 1961 M.I.and i lost the keys, the ignition has 2 wires and i was wondering if i remove the switch and conect the wires would i be able to start it.thanks

Crossing the two wires at the key switch will bring on the ignition as you suspect. If the switch is like the key switches all of our older tractors (IHC, Oliver, MM) the same key fit's 'em all. Can get a replacement at the dealer for a couple bucks. Also on most of them you can simply stick a small screwdriver into the keyhole and turn it to work the switch.
