About a year or so ago, while disking up a small hill with my 1969 M670 Super, it started to spit and sputter, eventually died under the load. At that time, I posted a question about why it would do this. Was told that it was probably plugged fuel filter, gas line, or gas tank. I pulled everything apart, wasted alot of gas, and cleaned everything out. I also adjusted the carburator at that time. Everything has been fairly good with the tractor since, but not perfect. Tonight, I was out baling hay for the first time with this tractor. While pulling up the same SMALL hill as before, the tractor began to spit and sputter, eventually died. Can anyone tell me if I need to pull all the gas components off again, or is this more likely a carburation problem? I am so frustrated with this. It only happens while pulling a load (higher RPMs and PTO this time). Please help!

Just wondering if your fuel tank has pleanty of fuel. My old ford (NAA) will sometimes sputter some when mowing on a side of a hill with the left side is a bit lower than the right side when the fuel tank is real low.

Might try to fill your tank at least 3/4 full and see if it still has a problem. Just my 2 cents.

Does your fuel tank have a reserve on it. Might try opening it up all the way if it does, and see what happens. THis alows the fuel to be picked up at the very bottom of the tank. Let us know how you come out.

Good Luck.
