As I am moving along on this project, I am ready to consider manure spreader sides. The original sides were sheet metal 101" x 17". The question is whether to use tongue and grove pressure treated wood or try to buy some sort of sheet metal. This spreader will most likely be subject to weather and prolonged exposure to manure again. Any ideas on cost and acquisition of side material are welcomed. Please advise on material prep and finishing. Final appearance will be important as will material durability and life.

i redone a new idea spreader with roughly the same size metal as you need. i went to some local scrap yards and was able to buy some sheets of stainless steel for scrap price, $1.25 per pound ! no need to worry now about the sides rottening away again, just the rest of the iron.
