After much mechanical work and a fresh paint job, I have assembled the tractor, and have a persistant gasoline leak in the connection between the sediment bulb unit and the 3-way valve. Which is better as a sealant-- teflon tape or a sealant such as the Permatex material which supposedly contains teflon?? Is anything better than either of the above?? TIA

If this becomes a problem that won't go away, you may want to replace the bowl assembly and three way valve. Most of the JD's that I used to work on didn't use the All Fuel option anymore. It was cheaper to go to NAPA and buy a new sediment bowl with a regular cut-off valve and re-plumb the fuel lines than it was to replace the three way valve. Just a suggestion of an alternative fix to the problem.

Teflon tape is the best for connections as far as i'm concerned. Its not near as messy to clean up if something happens and you have to take it apart again.
