My high low and reverse cam pivot shaft arm broke off and I must replace it. What are things to be careful of when removing the top cover that has the shifter and oil filler on? The arm sheered off even with top plate.

David,
Many years ago I had rectified this problem many times. Are you sure it's the pivot shaft, and not the shaft in the transmission that the shifting collar slides on? I am sure that there are a lot more people alot more familiar with this and have done so more recently. If you still need/want some advice, email me and I will try to give you as full detail as I can about how to fix this. I joined the military 18 years ago, and my "hands on" experience has not been a lot since joining. Something that I hope to and plan on changing soon.

Maybe if you told us what make, model and type of machine that you have, someone will help.

Sorry, I failed to even list my tractor model and make. I have an 806 International Farmall tractor. 1965 year model, I think. My high low and reverse cam pivot shaft arm broke off and I must replace it. What are things to be careful of when removing the top cover that has the shifter and oil filler on? The arm sheered off even with top plate. Also, where can this part be ordered?
