I have an 8n and while I was working the loader today all of a sudden I lost all lifting power. It has that hydraulic pump on the front. The shaft that runs the pump still spins until you try to raise the loader, and then it quits spinning. I assume that there is a spline in there somewhere that is stripped, I didn't have time to investigate too closely. What do you guys think that the problem might be??? I also do not have a manual for this machine so any possible part numbers would be very helpful as well as where the part or parts could be purchased. Thank you very much for any advice.

If its like the ones on my 2 tractors you have a shaft that is splined and a disc. that has splines that bolts to the crank pulley coast around $50-$100 for the parts I get them at my local tractor dealer. They are a real pain to put in, it can be done with out pulling the hood etc but it is easyer if you do. I have to replace them about every other year. You probably have a vickers vane pump also right?? Post back if you have more question on this problem I'll be happy to answer as many question as I can for you

It could be splined, keyed, threaded or screw tightened. All those were used by the various manufacturers. Like you said, you've already seen the problem.
