I am a 14 year old boy very interested in restoring a tractor. My dream tractor to restor is a Allis Chalmer B, but I i dont have alot of money to spend. So i am looking at a Cockshutt and a model B John Deere the guy who is selling the JD will sell it to me for $800.00 and it is running, is that a good price? I am also wondering if the model B is know as the "putt putt"?

You should be able to find a running AC B for $800 or less. They are easy to work on and parts are plentiful. The JD B is a nice tractor too, depends on what color you like best.... I would look for the AC if that's where you want to end up though. Good luck and welcome to a great pastime!

I would definately favor the John Deere B , and yes it is as well known as a putt putt . 800.00 is probably a fair $ if its all there and sheetmetal is all workable condition and it runs good!
