I farmed with 1950T's for many years and found them to be good tractors except for the engines if you worked them hard. The 310 wahasha(sp?) engine was a good little motor in the smaller Olivers when not turbocharged, but had a short life in a 1950T with the turbo at 120 + HP. If the coolant was not changed yearly they would crack or pinhole sleeves and eat up the block where the sleeve O rings were located. During the first few years it was common to have blown head gaskets several times per year. It seems the turbo motors developed more cylinder pressure than the head bolts could hold. We tried all the factory fixes(different gasket designs, better head bolts and more torque) Nothing seemed to help. The block finally cracked at 2500 hrs. We repowered the 1950T with another brand of engine and another 1950T with blown engine we bought for $2500 with only 2000 hrs. With the better engines installed we continued to run these tractors as our main farming tractors for another 15 trouble free years. I still use them as secondary tractors, much perfering the newer models with quiet, airconditioned cabs. Hyd pumps will wear out at 5-6000 hrs. Have never had to touch any other driveline parts with well over 10,000 hrs on these tractors. The only other problem is if you do not keep the front wheel bearings adjusted tight, Running loose will wear out the spindle threads.
