Can somebody tell me whether the "control valve assembly", having to do with the hydraulic lift, on a Farmall will work on an International 240 Utility tractor?I recently bought an IH 240 Utility (late '50's model I believe) with a lift problem that has been diagnosed as having a bad control valve (also called, I THINK, a "safety/regulator valve", located under the gas tank), and I've been told that, without question, all I need is to replace that valve assembly. I have now located this part for a Farmall (year unknown, as of yet) and I suspect that it is compatible with my tractor. Can anybody confirm this? If so, I will buy this part and have it installed. I have somebody who can definitely install it, but for whatever reason he isn't sure if the Farmall part would work.
