Does anyone have the solution for removing rust that is caked on old tractor tubes. It seems to be pretty stubborn. I would like to try removing some of it.
Thanks!

For the price of a tube even if it is 6 months old and out of the tire for some reason I would change it. If it has rust caked on it sounds like it is way too old to be putting back in the tire!

Tucker Tire has tubes for $7 - $25 bucks each. Not worth messing with your for that kind of money! They have an ebay store and are swell folks.

Sandblasting works well to get rid of caked on rust.

My solution is to replace the tube. I hate tire work, and won't risk re-doing a repair for the cost of a tube. The operative term in your post is 'old tube'. Small tubes are too cheap, and big tubes are too much work to change.
