I'm Trying to fix a JD 290 corn planter. The gears are rusted on the shaft that goes on the fertilizer attachment. The gears in question are on the bootom of the base. It has a shaft that goes up to a square piece that has a tip on the top. There is a bolt that comes out to seperate the base a the gear. How does that piece with the gear come out? Thanks for any info. Also looking to buy any JD 290 planters or parts.

I have two 290 seed hoppers for sale. They only have the main bottom cast piece and I only have one lid. They are in very good shape. Will sell for $20 + shipping. Contact me if interested. Mark

I understand that we are not to buy or sell on these forums. But if you are interested in parts for a 290 planter, send me an e-mail at slapars@mobil1.net
