what is the best way to replace the oil purssure dash gauge on a 4240 with cap. Looks hard to get to, but I am sure some one has a good way to get there.

You need to take the cowl cover off, then you can unscrew the screws that hold the dash. The gauge assembly has a large connector that needs to be unplugged. I don't know why you want to remove the guage, but if the problem might be the sender, I would check that out first. More likely to be the problem, and a lot easier to replace. Had the same problem with my 4240 years ago. To check the sender- short out the wire to the sender, if it pegs the needle on the gauge, the problem is the sender, not the gauge.

I don't know of an easy way. Start unplugging and unscrewing until you get the gauge panel out, then unscrew some more.

(Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, LOL!)
