Thank you both for your helpful replies. We tried the torque and tapping technique, the bolt refused to budge. We used the wirefeed welder to weld a bigger nut on the top of the bolt, I think the heat from welding loosened the bolt, I was afraid to apply direct heat to the block or head. The head is off, we cleaned all the junk out of the cylinders, the Number 2 hole is stuck.I pulled the pan, you can see a rust streak coming down from the wrist pin. The Farmall Cub site was very helpful, because of what I read there I was cautious about the amount of force we applied to the engine. Patience is a wonderful thing. We partly filled the cylinders with PB, and tapped lightly on the pistons. We also tapped the con rod caps. The number 2 piston finally moved a couple of thousanths, we refilled the cylinders with PB and called it a day. Anyway, thank you both for your words of wisdom, I think the Cub is back on the road to full health, and we haven't wrecked anything beyound repair.
