When restoring a 1941 JD "B" last year, I put on a new sediment bulb assy, and new 3-way valve. Soon after, the fitting connecting the 3-way valve and the sediment bulb body began to leak. Teflon tape was used to assemble the fitting. Is a there a good sealant that is "gasoline proof" that works in situations like this. TIA

I bought a new sediment bulb assembly for a MH I restored last year because the old one was cracked and leaked. I put it on and everything seemed to be fine except when I left it sit with the gas shut off, it would continue to let gas by the shut off and apparenty my carb. was not set just right and it would be dripping gas everytime I went to start it. Come to find out the shut off was not seating properly. So I threw it away and bought a better quality one. The moral to my rambling is check and make sure there is no cracks or defects in the fitting and if not, I like to use Permatex pipe sealant, it seems to stand up to just about anything. Your local parts store that sells Permatex products should have it.
