I am restoring a 1951 John Deere B for a fair project. I took the gear selector off along with the steering wheel holder, I thought I put it in right, but now it is stuck in one gear and when I go to shift it into another gear it just acts like it is all locked up. Please Help!

Take the cover back off, and shift the rails one at a time back to the neutral position, and then try carefully putting the cover back on the with end of the shift lever dropping down into the shifters
