There's a 99+% chance Your leak is the CORK GASKET between the Sundstand hydrostatic unit and the Cub Cadet rearend. It's about 2-1/2" in dia. and 3/32 inch thick and the last one I bought had pressure sensitive adhesive on one side, The "Crack & Peal" kind. $3 at My CC dealer. Problem is the half a day of labor to get the hydro unit out of the 125 and install it back into the tractor. Removing the whole rearend is the easy way on a 123,105,125,107,127,147. (Narrow Frame tractors) The center cover exposes enough of the rearend to replace the cork gasket on a WIDE FRAME without removing the rearend (109,129,149,169,1250,1450,1650 and all later hydro's like 682,782,982 (red) I WOULD NOT run something other than HY-TRAN in Your Cub Cadet. FWIW, all three of My CC's leak, even the gear drive 72, the 129, and My 982.

The ONLY fluid you should use in that 125 is Case/IH Hytran. You can get it from a Case/IH dealer or a Cub Cadet dealer. Anything thicker may not be healthy for the Hydrostatic unit. It would be far cheaper to just fix the leak than it would be to damage the Hydro.
