hi i have a mtd with 15.5 hp engine and my belt coming from a pulley in the middle of the tractor to the transmission kept slipping off when i stopped or went in reverse so i bought a neww belt... then i put it on and it still slipped off but on the same pully there is another belt going towards the front of the tractor and i might go out and buy that belt also but i want to see if anyone would know if that was the problem? anyone help please... thank you

It sounds to me like one of the belt retainer brackets came loose and is no longer close enough to the pulley to keep the belt on. I'd check to make sure the belt retainer brackets are in place and secure.
