I can supply you with a conversion bracket kit. It is made specifically for replacing a generator with an alternator and is adjustable for many application. This would save you a lot of time and headache. Let me know if i can further help. Anyone else looking for starter, generator or alternator parts, feel free to call Jason @ Precision Power, Inc. 1-800-794-5962.

Look in the archives for wiring diagrams by BobM.
He has a lot of Farmall diagrams but the alternator part of the wiring will be the same. My Super A has the one wire GM alternator. I even took it apart and painted it Farmall red. First thing I noticed was that it was not charging at idle. Bob informed me that alternators have a "turn on" speed so i reved it up and cha-ching! it started charging. After it starts charging, you can idel back and it keeps charging. Just had to reach the "turn on" speed. With some bar stock, drill press, tourch, all thread, assorted bolts, left over generator mounting parts, etc and a little imignation, you will come up with a suitable mounting bracket.

There are a number of very good articles on this site under "Research & Info", "Articles" on performing this conversion. I also have a '51 Case SC that I made this conversion on and am very pleased, it is a "working" farm tractor that I pull my hay baler with. If you do not find what you need, let me know and I will try to help you out.

The longer support shaft for the bottom pivot point was a duplication of the original, although about 1 inch shorter, that I made on my lathe. The curved top arm for tensioning was taken from an old Plymouth car and slightly modified.
