Does anyone know any tricks to getting the Hubs off after the following has happened.
The 3 7/8 bolts broke near the Head. One of the Jack bolts was already broke the second has so much rust around that will not move. We have tried hitting the Collar that is supposed to go back Tried hitting the wheel itself Put a Jack against the axle with chains to the wheel. We even tried making a sleeve so that the jack pressure would go against the collar and not the axle. Also we have heated the hub to try to expand and break some rust. Tried Rocking the Wheel adjusting nut but that is froze up and won't budge. Any one who has had this problem or has some ideas that I havent tried let me know. The tractor is not running so can not drive around to try to horse it loose Thanks; Steve

Take a large maul and pound against the axle, this delivers more force and may break it loose. It may take several blows but may help you out.

Dead tractors can be towed. Penetrating oil and heat. Find a pipe slightly larger than the axle, and longer- weld a cap on it. beat on it to loosen the collar. Cursing is a big part of loosening.
