Stuck Oliver hubs

Grandpa bought an Oliver RC 60 to restore. It has rubber tire wheels on hubs. He wants to remove the hubs from the axles to put on steel wheels he has for it. The hubs are stuck on the splined axle shafts. Have tried a big gear puller and small hydraulic jack with no results. Any other ideas for breaking the hubs loose?

Thanks in advance

Get a good solid pull on your wheel puller.Pack dry ice around the axle by straping the ice pieces in some fashionand let sit for a long enough time to saturate the metal until it is thoroughly frozen. Then warm the hub.Take up on the wheel puller as far as possible and then strike the end of the puller lead screw with a heavy hammer to jar the wheel loose. While doing this have someone tightening the lead screw every time a blow is struck.I have removed thirty and forty ton propellors from the tailshafts on ships when 300 ton pullers were ineffective until dry ice was applied. This required lots of dry ice and hours of saturation time on 24 inch diameter shafts but it works like magic.

Loosen bolts and try driving around slow this may help bust them loose.
