I need some help on how or want seals to replace on an 8N. The right rear axle is leaking into the break drum.
Any help is apprecieated.

Thanks Terry

Take a look at this link. I used it to replace a seal last month. Worked great.

This applies to 8N's, which you state you have. 9N's and 2N's are different.

ALL 8N's have a rear axle oil seal that runs on the inner part of the wheel hub. It is replaced by (with the tire and rim and disc removed) removing the large axle nut, and pulling the hub off. If the hub is in good condition, and is tight on the axle, a puller will be needed.

If the hub is not tight on the axle, the splines may be worn (usually worse in the hub), and a replacement hub may be needed.

With the hub off, the seal is accessable for replacement.

On the LATER (don't know the serial number break, offhand) 8N's, there is also an inner seal, next to the bearing.

After replacement of the seal(s), the large axle nut gets torqued to 450 foot pounds, and then is locked with the spring wire clip.

Bob,
Thanks for the info. Does not sound too hard, except for the 450lbs of torque.
