rescently purchased a 1963 ford 4000 with a 172cu.in.gas engine and s.o.s. trany. i"m trying to find out what would be the best oil to use in the engine , trany and rear axle.I have an owners manual that recomends a 10w-30 oil for the engine but i"m not sure if this is the same 10w-30 that you would use in a car ? also should I use detergent or non-detergent engine oil?

Not to be a smart acre, but he stated it was a SOS, therefore it will use the 134 fluid, same as the hydraulic system.

Well Dave, you snagged me on that one. Being lower case, I missed it. Usually I see it in the upper case and I was in a big hurry to get to the punch line.
