A neighbor just bought a Minneapolis Steam Tractor and was wondering how to clean the inside of the boiler and if it uses water injection. This is just a start of his questions. He has lots of questions so if you can leave a phone # i can give to him to call you or i can give you his so you can call him. If he needs to ask if it has water injection, he desperatly needs to go to a steam school. For his own safety and that of anybody who gets near him. Most clubs and associations that run shows that feature steam either run or will know of a steam school he could attend. We run one here at Rough & Tumble every spring. I attended about 5 years ago I'm glad I did. Work hard, get real dirty, learn a lot!

There was a Minneapolis at the Canandagua show last year, a little digging might find you the owner and the answers to a lot of your questions.

First thing I would do is find a Antique tractor club in the area see if someone with experience would be willing to help him out and show him the ropes, old steamers are nothing to be taken lightly, think of the incident in Ohio.

I agree with Bob. A steamer would be an awesome project, but before I attempted one I would want to apprentice with an experienced steam engineer. Steamers take constant attention to operate.
