Carb float setting

Needed to adjust float setting of my carb. I used a glass bowl to temporarily replace the bowl of the carb. Posted a photo in the "Parts & Pieces" section (on the left hand side of the screen).
The trick worked fine and I could accurately measure the attained fuel level using the depth gauge of my vernier caliper.
What worries me is that the float is NOT parallel to the carb face after the float needle closes. This is contrary to what my service manual shows.
Any and all help appreciated! Hendrik

B.S. You've got it in the best situation to make it right...keep bending until it is perfectly parallel and within measurement specs.

If you were working for me and ask a question like that I would kick you *ss all over the engine room. These other guys would be paid off and kicked down the gangway in the first port.

BTDT many times.

Then you haven't bent it enough or in the right place.

BUTTTTT TTTTT T what difference does it make. If you have it working where it is..... ...don't fix what ain't broke....

I agree Mark,

Doesn't matter if it is standing on it's head, inside out, or painted purple. All it is, is a on/off valve. If it's working, leave it alone.
