I have what I assume to be a Farmall Super C which I think is a 1951 Model. I"m going to attempt a restoration God help us all! The Serial Number is "130844". This is on the small plate attached to the tool box under the seat. The plate has been painted over several times and is hard to read. On the plate there appears to be a "FO" following the word "Model".

Can one of the Farmall experts confirm that this is a Farmall Super C? And also can someone indicate if the "FO" makes any sense to someone?

Thank you for any assistance. Happy Thankgiving everyone! Bill (Tractor Restoration Rookie)

If you have 6 digits in the serial number, it is a Super C.

Both C's and Super C's were produced in 1951. The prefix for both is FC. Assuming your serial is correct, you have a late 1951 Super C, likely assembled in December. Serial numbers can be found on this site to the left under "Research and Info". Super C's had disk brakes (cast housings) and curved clutch and brake petals. Regular C's had band brakes (stamped housings) and straight clutch and brake petals, among other differences.

CNKS - Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. The prefix of FC which looked like a FO to me makes sense. Is there a link or manual that lists the Prefixes and what they mean that you are aware of? I may try and get some of the old paint off the serial plate. That way someone might be able to read it! I saw the serial number section and it seemed to confirm that it was a 1951 Super C but the mistaken FO threw me off.

Thanks again.

FC is simply IH's designation for Farmall C; FAA is Farmall A; FAB, Farmall B; FBH, Farmall H; and FBK, Farmall M. This is only a partial list.

You have one to many numbers in the serial. And the FO sould be FC.A 51 would have#71880 to 80432

greenmech - Thank you for the quick response. I'll check again on the serial number plate after I get some of the old paint off. I think I have 6 numbers in my serial number (130844). Are you saying there should only be 5? That doesn't seem to match up with the serial numbers listed in the serial number section on this website for a Farmall Super C. I'm a rookie at this so I could easily have missed something. I'll look for the "FC.A51" prefix you mentioned after I get the paint off.

Thanks again.
