Hello everyone I have a McCormick 101 combine and I am having some electrical problems. What is happenening is I will lose electric to the ignition after it has gone through a fuse. The fuse is located on the wire which the battery is connected to the ignition. I have power from the battery to the fuse point. The fuses are not blown. The weirdest part of all is I WILL GET POWER to the ignition once in awhile, which is baffling me. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks!

Very likely, the contact areas in the fuseholder have oxidized, and are not making good contact.

If originality is not important, I would replace the fuseholder with a modern one using the flat-blade ATO style fuses. You should be able to find one with a rubber cover that snaps over the fuse to keep out dirt and moisture.

If possible, solder the splices between the old harness and the pigtails on the new fuseholder.

Thanks a lot Bob. I replaced the fuse and haven't had any problems. The fuse holder was oxidized a little, which probably was the problem
