Alright guys, please help. I've got a chance to buy a 1954 NAA in pretty good shape. After looking at it and seeing the generator, I remarked to the guy that I would want to do a 12 volt conversion on it. He said I wouldn't have to, because it had a 12 volt generator on it. I didn't know they made such a critter. Is he shooting straight with me ? And if so, where could I find one for my 1953 Golden Jubilee? All I've ever seen are 6 volt generators or 12 volt alternators. The generator is a much more original look. Thanks for your help.

Well since you said the generator is a much more original look I will assume you would want to stay with a Ford generator.
No problem. Just look for a generator off a Ford Diesel tractor such as a 601 or 801.
Ford Diesel tractors came from the factory with a 12v generator.

Yep,

Alternators didn't hit the ground until 1962. Loads and loads of 12 volt generators out there.

Rookie the automobiles basically made the change to the 12 volt systems in 1955 and the alternators did not come in completely as standard equipment untill well into the 60's. So there was plenty of 12 volt gererators built. Dave
