I have what I believe is a Case 300. It was my grandfathers until he pasted away last year. It is the only tractor I have for the property. I have a few questions:

1) Where should the Serial number be found?

2) How do I tell if it is a 300 or 300B?

3) If I am going to replace the clutch, what all else should I replace while I am in there?

All help would be nice. Thank you.

Well I'll try to give you little help here. I have a 1956 310 and a 1959 311B.

The serial nr plate will either be on the panel under the dash or on the left side of the steering cowl around the corner from the hand throttle.

The 300 series, build years 1956 & 57, sheet metal & bolster is round in the front and is generally referred to as a round nose.

The 300B series, build years 1958 & 59, sheet & bolster is squared off in the front with headlights mounted in the grill cap (eyebrow front).

At the link is a picture of Mr Zook's 310 & 311B side by side. Other pixs in TRACTOR PHOTOS on your left.

As for splitting for the clutch job, hydraulic pump ok? ring gear ok? rear main seal leaking? I would suggest you ask this question on the Case board, lots of knowledgeable people there.

Joe
