Take your time and don't get mad at it, (I learned that the hard way). Try to heat both pieces evenly, but don't get them to hot. Once you have got them warmed up, hit the pieces with a garden hose until it is cool to the touch. The water will cause both pieces to contract rapidly and seperate. You may have to do this several times to achieve the best result. I have done this thousands of times with great results. Just don't get the parts "glowing red" with a torch because you can sometimes crack pieces when the water cools it down.

Great Idea.

I suppose it works equally well for the bar and pipe type (bar inside the pipe) steering linkage to the front spindle brackets also? I am going to have to widen my front and was wondering just how much damage I was going to do to my bushings while trying to free up the linkage.

Thanks,

Mark
