G'Day from Australia!
Ive got two old M4 petro/kero Nuffield tractors which ive been running on leaded petrol for some time. In Australia the production of leaded petrol has ceased with unleaded only being avaiable. Ive been told that I should add diesel to the unleaded to prevent burning out the valves. Has any one got any suggestions on mixing ratios or alternatives etc etc. NEXT Questions does any one know the octane rateing for Kerosene and Power Kerosene.
Kind Regards Sven

Why would you add diesel? There is no lead in it that I know of. How about a racing fuel? It usually has about 2 gms per gallon of TEL? How about a little aviation gasoline it has a lot of tel in it. You really only need about an oz. per tank.I really don't think you are going to have any serious problems without the lead though.

I have been adding a lead replacement additive to unleaded fuel for my old tractors (Cases) and truck (Bedford). I use Lucas 'Lead Replacer' but there are others. I do not know of any souce for marvilmistery oil in Australia

I have heard that mixtures of petrol and diesel work well but have not tried them.
