no, not just when it has been parked. after a couple of hours of use it seems to get better until then when ever i press the clutch pedal it just keeps going. i"ve found it will release on its own after 5 or 10 seconds without appling the brakes but appling the brakes causes it to release immediately. i use it a couple times a week and it is alway kept inside out of the weather. i"ve had the tractor for six months or so and it did fine for a while.

I had very similar symptoms from my 8N. When first starting it up, pushing in the clutch to go into any gear didn't work - I'd have to idle it down and cram it into 1st gear. Then after it got going and I'd push in the clutch the tractor would continue forward. Stepping on the brake would release it finally. Once it was warmed up, it seemed to work better. But I ended up having to have the tractor split and and a new clutch installed. Maybe if you're really lucky, it's something that can be fixed by adjusting the free play travel of the clutch pedal, but my guess is that you're going to need a new clutch disk.

If I read this correctly you are saying that the clutch sticks when the tractor is parked (will not release when you push pedal down) but appling the brakes will cause it to break free and start working.

If this is the case you clutch disc is rusting from no use and sticking to the flywheel. To fix the problem tie down the clutch pedal when you park the tractor.

If it sticks repeatedly after startup, I'd sooner think the disc is hanging on the splines than the disc sticking to the plate/flywheel. If the disc were sticking, once it freed, it should be OK till it is parked again. If you take the small cover off the bottom, you may be able to direct a spray of penetrating oil up on the input shaft which can run forward to the clutch disc. Have the tractor blocked well facing downhill. A longshot, but the alternative is a split and new clutch. Yes, you may get a little oil on the disc, but it is borderline junk now.
