I"m restoring a Mccormick Deering 15-30. The tanks are in good shape except they are very rusty inside and have a few pin holes. I have heard of a plastic or vinyl product that can be poured in and rolled around to coat the inside and seal any small holes. Does anyone have a name and source for this product?

Try calling Moyer Fuel Tank Renu. They have a unique process for restoring old gas tanks that seems to work quite well. slmoyer@westol.com or call 800-328-9550.

I use "Slosh Compound". It is commonly used to seal aircraft fuel tanks. I pour a double handful od 1/4" nuts in the tank, apply cap, and strap to the hind wheel of another tractor or a pickup and slowing rotate or drive around slowly. Blow out rust, treat with a mild acid, pour in compd and slosh around. Drain and dry. Buy this from any airplane mechanic.

I second the recomendations of Dr Bert. I used 10' of dog chain & POR15 AUTO FUEL TANK REPAIR KIT. Did a VERY good job, no problems since & it gets harder with gasoline exposure.

"FUEL TANK REPAIR is more than just pouring in a quart of sealer and sloshing it around. If gum, varnish, sludge, or fuel are inside, they must be removed first. Our U.S. STANDARD TANK SEALER™, like all other sealers, will not work in a contaminated tank. Find out what the pros already know... our FUEL TANK REPAIR KIT has everything you need to do the job right!"

I used KREEM in both my Harley and my Super A and was pleased with the results. I put a length of chain in my Super A tank along with the first step phospheric acid and rolled it over and over and round and round and it cleaned the inside quite well. You can get it at motorcycle shops

A large local parts dealer should have a fuel tank cleaner and sealer. If you can not find it try THIS.
