Hi Cub mates, I found an old cub with major cracks in the thin part of front casting which is also the bottom of the radiator. I took it to a fellow that was far more familiar with this sort of thing than I. We heated the whole casting up with propane torches to distribute heat evenly. I had formerly veed out cracks with grinder. Then tried to braze the cracks. It was virtually impossible to cool casting evenly due to so many thicknesses to casting. I believe it would have to be done in an oven to control gradual cooling. Anyway, our job wound up cracking again where it was brazed. This part under the rad was also mounded up due to frost where the water froze and pushed it up. I reground out the cracks and just mixed up some JB Weld and finished the surface again with a file and sand paper. Because the rad was also the same shape I repaired it without changing the contour and put it all back together. That was over ten years ago and I haven't had a problem with it. I hope this can help someone. Jim
