When I throttle up for more rpms the throttle handle doesn't want to stay in position, it keeps returning back to the idle position.

Can anyone give me advise on how to repair this.

Thanks in advance.

My Fords have a friction disc mounted on a lever on top of the engine's bell housing under the fuel tank. The handle connects to one side via the vertical rod, and the other side goes to the engine. Purpose it to stop what you are talking about. It may be rusted up and non-functioning. Take it apart, clean it up and reinstall. Don't lube the disc part as you want the friction.... can lube the mounting screw threads if you want.
