I need to verify the hydraulic connections at the manifold for this tractor. We hooded it up the way we thought it came apart and now the blade control is backwards, ie. move lever to raise and the blade drops. We reversed the lines for the blade and it still goes in reverse but also will not stay up. So, now we are not sure whats up. Any help or diagrams would most appreciated.

Hi Robin Not sure of any bleeder, but fill it up with fluid, run her fwd, then back, the fwd etc until
the tranny seems ok.. You can both crudly bleed
the air from the valve by loosening the hose connections to create a controlled leak, same for
the cylinder. Also sounds like you have a valve with a "float position". If the plow was heavy enough, and used only for snow and not dirt moving, it may not have been obvious.
Oh yea.. hint jack up the rear wheels on firm
solid stands - saves following the machine around and around to work air from the tranny but
stay away from the front and rear any how.

HI There

Nobody seemed to answer your post so I'll try a little. (1) the hyd valve is dedicated to the mower deck
so that the blade arm (because of an extry pivot)
works apparently backward..
(2) There were different types of valves(both
original and aftermarket unfortunatly) 1= power up and power down - not yours 2. power up, power down and (clear down on handle) float, 3
power up and down (float always) this may be yours. I looked for diagrams but no luck in my stuff. Hope this helps a little

Thank you for the reply. I am helping my grandfather in law on this, so it is not my tractor. But, I believe the piston controlling the blade does control the mower deck (in the summer). He says that before he replaced all four hydraulic hoses (to remedy some leaks), the blade worked according to the label on the handle. When I arrived the blade operated backwards and the tractor would not drive. We switched two lines at the lift valve, and the tractor drives correctly. Then we reversed the other two lines, and the blade still operated backwards, plus now it would not stay in the up position. It just slowly fell, when the lever was released. So we reversed the same two hoses again, and now the blade does not work at all. I"m thinking either we have the hoses connected incorrectly or (questionable coincidence) the lift valve is malfunctioning. Also we are both unsure of any procedure for filling the sytem with fluid. I guess he had a bad leak and ran it until it would not drive any more. So it was very low on fluid. I recommended filling it and then running it and fill it again, etc.. Is there maybe a bleeder somewhere on this thing. We are really stuck here and would appreciate any help.
