Trying to raise the cab on a 1466 (big all white one), and the shop manual calls for bolting on a lift bracket. Problem is - there are no bolt holes. Just want to raise it enough to change the brakes, and nowhere safe to wrap a chain around the cab base in the rear. Anyone have any advice, besides calling the dealership to do the work. ccc.

Hello Matt,
It's been a few years (joined the military in '85) since I worked on one of these. Are you referring to the brackets on top of the cab that are usually there when you buy the tractor? There should be three tapped holes (plugged) on both the left and right sides of the cab. If this isn't so, you may try removing the cover on the top of the cab where you service the A/C unit. There should be something substantial to support the weight of the cab under this panel also. (if I remember correctly) Hope this is of some help.

Jim
