I have several tractors to paint and would like to know if there is a way to paint the rims with the tires on without having to mask each one. Is there a product that I can put on and wash off after painting

Some body shops use a spray on substance that can be sprayed onto the parts you want to protect against overspray. I believe it can then just be rinsed off with water. Might check an automotive paint supplier or some of your local body shops for it. Not sure about the price

Take a foam paintbrush and "paint" the rubber with dishwashing detergent.
When the paint is dry, then take a gardenhose and wash it off.

I cut open soft drink cans, stick them between the rim & tire overlapping each one a little. I usually tack the overlaps together with a bit of masking tape & stick some newspaper under the outer edge of the cans.

I use a piece of formica laminate, as it bends pretty easy and is thin enough to fit up to the rim pretty good. If you know a contractor that does kitchens, you might find him throwing out a strip a foot or so wide after he does a countertop.

i used to paint tractors and we would apply grease to the rubber tire sides and go ahead and paint. most of the time we could just wipe the sidewalls down with a thinner and most of the paint would come off. then wash with a strong detergent and let dry. final touch-up would be to paint the tires gloss black with a brush, being careful near the rims. of course this was not on show quality machinery. this was on county and state mowing machines.
