I am looking for a vintage battery powered flashing light to go on my farmall cub. They had a metal or tin can body that held a 6v lantern battery and a fender mount style light on top that flashed when turned on. Used is fine as long as its complete and functional. I used to see these at the local farm and fleet stores, but I cannot find anything localy or on the net. Thanks Mike

Could you make one with a square hand lantern and battery? You'd have to wire in a flasher from a car, and a different switch than the one in the lantern. The firemen in our town have 5-cell flashlights, with an orange plastic cone that slips over the lens and round collar that holds it on the flashlight, which you could also use. They are soft plastic, and can be heated in the micro-wave to make them fit over the collar!
Then a plate on the bottom would hold it on the tractor. Also, if you could find one of the old style truck turn signal lamps, with 2 lenses, that would work good, too. With the flasher wired into it. An antique truck or tractor show might produce the lamp you want, but i'd think most of them would be rusted away after setting out in the weather for many years!
