I have a 1966 IH 544 Hydro. I have 2 items I need help with. - The left brakes heat up to the point they are smoking when I am taking it down the road. I have the brakes apart, but I am not really sure what I am looking for. I first tried adjusting the brakes back and that didn"t work, -- now that it is apart it looks as if the brakes are being turned out as the tractor speeds up -- any ideas

- I have also noticed that the tractor dosen"t seem to have much pulling power - I went to pull a friend out of the mud with it, and the tractor seemed to bogg down with the load, the tires didn"t even spin.(btw I was pulling out a John Deere that was stuck in a pile of manure) I am told you can"t spin the tires with a hydro is this true or is there something wrong with the hydro. (or maybe the RPMs weren"t up enough - I do baby it because I am told the hydro is an expensive item to fix - Is the hydro fairly durable?)

overall the tractor is in great shape, and has worked extremely well as a PTO tractor. but I would like to put a bucket on the front of it one day.

Thanks in advance for all of you input.

Nathan
