I need to replace the bushings in the Bobtach on my skidsteer. It is the bushing where the pins to the liftarms sit. I have some problems. I tried to heat the area up but since only one side is open you can not not use a hammer or somthing to knock it out.
Do I need a speciel puller, there is a groove in the middle of the bushing. How do you heat something like this there is a lot of iron around the bushing.
The second problem is the other side where the bushing is so worn that the groove is gone and it looks like what is left of it has been polished into the insert. Only thing I can imagine to do here is to gring it away.
Help me with some suggestions before I do something stupid.

if the bushing is big enough, you can run a cutting torch inside and cut a slot in it. The steel frame won't have time enough to get hot and damaged. if the bushing is thick enough you can thread it then install a bolt and use a slide hammer. a thin bushing can be split/cut with a chisel sharped at an angle. on easy to get out bushings, put heavy greasa in the hole then tap in a shaft that just fits the bushing. the hydraulic force of the grease will push on the back side of the bushing.
