Neighbor had died and left his tractor to me. Cleaned the fuel bowl, put a new 6 volt battery in it, but, seems not to be getting any spark. My question, should I go ahead and make it 12 volt or keep it as orignal and put it into the shop, any info would be deeply appreciated

I'd leave it 6 volts and just do a good tune up and it should run

Please leave it the original 6 volts. It started for many years that way and should continue for many more years.

If it has sat for a long time, you might want to try filing the points before going for a full tune-up.
