I recently purchased a Ford 8N with the over riding pto clutch. Any idea how I can remove this clutch. I do not know the brand of the clutch on the tractor. It has a grease fitting on it and 180 degrees to the fitting is a threaded plug. Removed both and seems to be some sort of split ring inside. There is a through hole, nothing there but the hole. I do not want to break anything so HELP. Need to replace the seal so it has to come off. Please respond to my email address morgan16oz@aol.com
Thanks,
Al

There is a roll pin through the hole you mention. You will have to turn the OVER-RIDING COUPLER (not a clutch), until the holes match up, and drive the pin out.

Most Ford rigs I have seen and owned, have a roll pin (2" by 3/16 as I recall) which is driven thru the hole in the PTO shaft. To get it out you have to line up the 2 holes you were talking about with it (remove the zerk and plug). Then a punch and hammer in one hole and the pin goes out the other. Sometimes it's real hard to find with a lotta grease but it 's there.
