Oil from the rear end of my F-14 is leaking on the brakes. How can I replace the seal? The brake cam keeps the plate from coming off. My book says to remove the Bull Gear cover. All 9/16" bolts have been removed but there are four 3/4" bolts that appear to be put in from inside the transmission. How can I get at them? John

The F-14 transmission cover is off. I took the advice of Roger Welsch. Got a cup of coffee, a chair and your suggestions and sat down and looked at it while it was soaking in penetrating oil. An idea came. I sliced a large square nut in half. Put it on one of the Transmission Cover Dowell Pins, with a lock washer sandwiched between and turned the pin out. All four came out pretty easy. With the dowel pins out the cover simply lifted off.

Thanks for your help. Now I will send an order to Rice Imp. for all the seals I need.

You have to take the transmission top off. The bull gear is keeping the brake counter shaft bearing carrier locked in. Pull a huge cotter pin out of the axle shaft that keeps the bull gear tight and the rear wheel in place. The counter shaft bearing carrier for your brake will come out after you have released the bull gear from the axle, it will slide. Good time to replace the rear axle seal (both sides) as well as the other brake counter shaft bearing carrier.
Not hard just a pain. Good luck!
