For a '47 I think you're looking for 9N3660. I know there is a place in NC that sells them for about $3 each.

Now a days I believe they are just made out of felt. Felt is cheap and you can just cut as many as you want with sissors. James

There is a felt dust seal that goes between the pitman arm and steering box, but als a true oil seal that fits just inside the steering box that holds the oil back (in theory) and rides on the steering sector gear arm. These oil seals can be found at NAPA Part Number - 11055 $5.88 EA.

I suggest what I have done is to replace the oil seals, then fill the steering box with John Deere Cornhead Grease. It takes about 2 tubes or so, and will not pack away from the moving gears inside as it is pretty flowable. Works great, and you don't have to worry about leaks again.

Good luck,
Dan
