I am rebuilding a horse drawn cultivator to use as an ornament but would like to keep it as original as possible. I am thinking of media blasting and powdercoating. would this decrease value over painting. Thanks for any tips.

Having grown up on a farm where all work was done with horses and seeing all the horse drawn stuff still around on lawns and rusting away in fence rows etc. It is hard for me to believe that any of it has enough value to justify painting. Do as you like and concern yourself with the value later on.

If you're doing this for yourself then fix it up any way you think looks good. If you're doing this as a business, check around and see what the market demands. People may want shiney or painted or rusty(weathered).
