I just recently acquired an Avery tractor with 1 wheel in the front. The stamp on the frame of the tractor says 5A-623, I'm assuming that's the model number or serial number. I can't seem to locate anyplace on the web I could use this number to get some info on the tractor...year etc. Can anybody help me?

Serial number 5A623 is a 1945 Avery model A. My model A is 5A521 so it was made only 102 tractors before yours. Where abouts do you live? A few years ago, I wrote up a little history page on the Avery A/Cletrac General GG tractors. It is in the articles section here at YT under the research and information section in the left-hand menu. There is a website listed there that might be of some help to you. They are pretty uncommon up in these parts but more common down south, especially in the eastern part of the US.
